There was a thread a couple days ago asking for some good 1980 recomendations. Thinking of that, I was going through my 1980 shows and bumped into a really nice audience recording by Barry Glassberg. Front of the board, NAK 700's, Sony D-5, and good venue acoustics come together for a very sweet recording of a nice show. The sound is as good as any soundboard, but better: wide and open as only an audience recording can be.

check out his other recordings around this time period too.

Enjoy

I've always much preferred soundboards to audience recordings but this one is so nice it just might make a believer out of me. Thanks for the recommendation!

outstanding sound i had a show from the fox theatre in nov of 80 i think that is a sweet sounding board, but i like these 80 auds the crowds seemed especially amped that year, the hes gone jam from 5-12-80 is out of this world
